Harrison Ovens Debuts at RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2022
1 August 2022
Enthusiasts of natural gardening, foraging and re-wilding, Harrison Ovens' stunning debut at the Chelsea Flower Show showcased what can be achieved with edible plant life inspired by the Kent Coastline, with their 5 Gold Star-awarded Garden.

The beautiful coast of Kent, home to an abundance of plant life like samphire and sea kale, wild garlic and hawthorn, has inspired many famous writers and artists over the centuries. It is the place where T.S. Eliot penned part of his epic poem The Waste Land and a source of inspiration for master landscape painter JMW Turner. Now, that very same coastline is responsible for fueling the creative endeavours of a British manufacturer of high-end commercial and home charcoal ovens.
Harrison Ovens are a Kent-based brand used in the kitchens of some of the world's most famous cooks. They recently showed off their pride in all things Kent and doing things the traditional way at the 2022 RHS Chelsea Flower Show - launching their new line of ovens inspired by the plant life of the Kent coast.

What transpired was something quite special
Paying homage to the garden of British filmmaker and activist Derek Jarman in Dungeness, the Harrison Ovens Garden at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show was designed to showcase their outdoor oven range in a truly unique fashion.

Amongst the flora and fauna, the shingles and pebbles, the Harrison Ovens rose, sculpture-like and iconic.
Enthusiasts of natural gardening, foraging and re-wilding themselves, the Harrison Ovens team focused their energy on showcasing what can be achieved with edible local plant life.
The result was an oasis of rustic beauty and charm; a place to nurture the soul as much as the appetite.
That is what Harrison Ovens is all about: bringing people together in beautiful surroundings to celebrate great food, made even better thanks to charcoal cooking.
Created by Sarah Morgan of The Garden Creative, the intention behind the Harrison Oven Garden was to showcase plants as foraged food. The aim was to show both the beauty and culinary value of vegetation from the Kent coastline, such as samphire, sea kale, wild garlic, and hawthorn.

Harrison’s new Edible Botanicals charcoal colour range
In addition to these incredible plants, the garden also featured a selection of Harrison Oven’s new 'Edible Botanicals' range.

The colours of Allium, Mustard, Borage, Sage, and Olive have been chosen to perfectly complement the brand’s coastal heritage and commitment to sustainability.
Handmade to order, and crafted using all British-sourced materials, Harrison Ovens are the result of years of research and technical development. Built by engineer and food-enthusiast Daniel Thumwood, each charcoal oven that rolls out of his Ramsgate workshop is the result of unparalleled attention to detail.

From the high-grade stainless steel used in their construction, to the innovative design of the airflow chambers, everything about Harrison Ovens has been carefully considered to optimise cooking performance.
It is their exacting craftsmanship and commitment to quality that has seen Harrison Ovens become the first choice for many of the world's top chefs.

Notable among the many culinary masters cooking with a Harrison oven are Michelin-starred Richard Corrigan as well as top chefs like James Cochran and Neil Rankin.
And now, as their 5 Gold Star-awarded Garden will attest, Harrison Ovens is bringing their passion for great food and beautiful surroundings to the home.
