Harrison Charcoal Ovens - Barcelona Wine Bars USA
Harrison Charcoal Ovens are delighted to announce that they will be supplying large US restaurant chain, Del Frisco Restaurant Group with their hand made, all British-sourced and engineered charcoal ovens.
After trialing other UK, European and global charcoal oven brands for their 50-100 new restaurants plan, a DFRG restaurant group chose this tiny, handmade charcoal oven company in Ramsgate, Kent. In July 2018, DFRG recently acquired Barcelona Wine Bars and announced that they will now be opening 50-100 new restaurants throughout the USA.
This huge win was not only down to the high performance and stunning aesthetics of the ovens, but the service provided by this husband and wife team, who only sell direct to clients all over the world in order to build close relationships and keep excellent service standards.
Daniel Thumwood, Harrison’s founder comments:
“We have an upscale plan that involves local, family run suppliers in Ramsgate. We at Harrison strongly believe that artisans are now the game changers. In a world of mass-production and high-speed living, our skills and service go back to a time of authentic, step-by-step methods. We are simply not interested in mass production or global distribution. We build our ovens to last and our customers applaud and appreciate that.”
Daniel and Natalie Thumwood, founders of Harrison Ovens went over to the US to work with the chain’s executive chefs on how to get the best out of their ovens, as well as training the kitchen teams.
“It’s so important to us that our clients’ use our ovens to their utmost potential and get the best out of them, which is why we have offered this training service” says Natalie Thumwood.
Harrison Ovens launched in London in 2016, before the Thumwood family decided to move down the Kent coast, setting up home in Margate and their workshop 15 minutes away in Ramsgate. After only 2 years of trading, The Harrison ‘S’ charcoal oven is quickly becoming the most aspirational piece of kitchen equipment in The UK.
Restaurateur of the Year 2018, celebrity chef Richard Corrigan was the first to buy a Harrison ‘S’ for his Mayfair restaurant and then another for Virginia Park Lodge. The UK’s leading ‘real fire chef’ and author Neil Rankin also invested in Harrison ‘S’ for his groundbreaking Temper restaurant chain.
